Slow down from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy the atmosphere of the old lumberjack bunkhouse and its courtyard, blending into the peace of the surrounding wilderness by Lake Luosujärvi. Our rustic milieu offers an atmospheric setting for many kinds of events, parties and meetings, as well as a group hiking destination all year round.

Sauna Services and Activities

Our wood-heated saunas have gained many sauna friends around the world. You can enjoy their gentle and relaxing moist heat by booking private hours and if you wish, you can complete the reservation with additional activities.

Open Public Shifts

During the winter, we also organize weekly some open shifts, so you can enjoy our activities easily by reserving your own spot from the booking calendar.

In the past, sauna bathing played an important role in keeping the lumberjacks clean and in washing clothes and heating the water. In addition to this, sauna time offered a moment to calm down and relax after a hard day. That’s how it is even today!

Historic Courtyard

We have a unique setting to take a break from the modern world and enjoy the peaceful, old lakeside milieu. Our wood-heated saunas, historic lumberjack sauna and unique smoke sauna, offer gentle moist heat for your relaxation. While bathing, you can refresh yourself on the spacious terrace or take a dip in the lake. The wind shelters make a nice spot to enjoy snacks, admire the sunset or hunt for the northern lights.

At the request of our customers, we have also added open public sessions to our offer, such as the Yoga & Sauna sessions on Thursdays held almost all year round, as well as this winter’s new snowshoe hikes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, both during the day and in the evening.

The history of Rönölä

The story of Rönölä began already at the beginning of the last century, when it was built up as a bunkhouse for forest workers and moved when the site location changed.. Its varied course of life has passed under lucky stars, and it has survived both the war years’ destruction and later the destruction of random passers-by.
