We are Anne and Jukka, the hostess and host of Rönölä. We provide adventurous services that emerge from the forestry culture, for which the genuine, historical houses and environment create a unique framework. Here on the shore of Lake Luosu in the middle of the wilderness, our sauna services offers the opportunity to relax and calm down, creating memories of these moments.

Our goal is to enable our guests to refresh and comfort by creating a framework for increasing their well-being. Our motto is “less is more” and we feel that asceticism and simplicity help to calm down and return to the basic values of life. It is also important for us to highlight the sensitivity and vulnerability of Arctic nature. By working with respect for the environment and nature, we also encourage our guests to the same.

It is important for us to cherish the history and authenticity of Rönölä. In everything, in repairs and new construction, we take into account local knowledge, customs and building culture, and only work with local entrepreneurs with the best experience and knowledge. By choosing materials and building solutions carefully, we strive to minimize and prevent environmental load and improve energy efficiency.

We have implemented in recent years, for example, the following measures:

• The maintenance hut with toilets connected to the municipal water and drain system has replaced previous chemical toilets
• The main house’s kitchen and rustic sauna are connected to a municipal water and drain network
• The electrification and lighting of the premises has been renewed to be safer and more energy efficient
• Disposable dishes have been completely switched to multi-use choices

We organize market events and provide additional services in cooperation with local companies. For example, catering services, yoga and other activities are our additional services provided by well-known operators that support and complement our own program.

For our part, we promote the development of the Luosujärvi and Ylläs areas by actively participating in local activities. We also belong to the area’s joint marketing organization, Visit Ylläs, whose marketing channels enhance the area’s attractiveness and awareness among travellers. Visit Ylläs also engages in the lobbying of the area, coordinates regional events together with those who produce them, and is responsible for arranging an outdoor route fundraising.
